Frequently Asked Questions

If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please reach out to us by phone or email and we would be happy to answer them for you.

Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on treating the inside of your teeth, specifically the root canals. If you have a tooth with deep decay or damage, an endodontist can clean out the infection and save the tooth, helping you avoid extraction and keep your smile healthy.

There’s no need to be concerned about dental x-rays. While x-rays are necessary for any endodontic procedure, we use digital x-ray imaging which reduces the amount of radiation by up to 80% less than film x-rays.

Endodontists today know and understand much more about pain management. Modern techniques and anesthetics play a big role in being comfortable and reducing any pain that could be experienced. For the first few days following a root canal, your tooth may be sensitive, especially if there was any pain before the treatment. Over the counter medications are typically enough to combat the sensitivity.

In some cases, a prescription may be necessary. Be sure to follow all aftercare instructions outlined by Forest Hill Endodontics.

We do our best to make sure every patient is comfortable, and reduce any undue stress or worry before treatment. If you are feeling worried or anxious before your treatment, be sure to speak to Dr. Reynolds so that any questions or concerns you have are answered.
